Catch-a-balls is all about building the basic repertoire of skills in order for children to enter the world of sport with physical confidence. For every sport, whether it is athletics, team sports, racket games or individual physical challenges participants need to be agile, well co-ordinated and aware of their body’s abilities and limitations.
There are many building blocks needed in order to throw and catch with accuracy and control. At Catch-a-balls our aim is to recognise each developmental stage of a child and focus on improving that stage to see them effortlessly to the next.
At Catch-a-balls we make learning how to catch and throw a ball fun. Our classes develop childrens’ skills as they grow and explore their own developing abilities. We also aim to develop balance and posture, co-ordination and spatial awareness and social skills.
We offer a non competitive programme for girls and boys from 18 months old. For many girls and boys gaining their confidence with their physical ability early will lead them to enjoy a whole host of sports quite naturally later.
Catch-a-balls operates in the belief that children should: Believe in their own personal worth and achievement Be nurtured to develop their skills in a suitable way See sport and fitness as a pleasurable part of a healthy lifestyle We provide an environment where everyone can learn and not be sidelined if they are not the best and we recognise every child’s progress.
